long day is ending
many things are left undone
but i go to bed
freezing speckled fish
just named by the two year old
you can’t leave us now
floating upside down
surprise! warm water revives
now we move the tank
it hovers around
an intangible presence
something left undone
a sweet baby sleeps
nestled in his mother’s arms
a moment of peace
just as we approach
the cliffs of insanity
you succumb to sleep
sort, wash, dry, fold, stash
surprisingly rewarding
order is restored
up before the sun
toddler seeks her parents’ bed
sleep eludes us all
hoping for snow day
hot chocolate by the fire
sweet family time
nobody expects
tupperware micturation
gotta love your mom
in a busy day
reality diverges
from best intention
